“We are somebody again”

Here, among the Lovely Heroes – the endearing champions of the Economic Miracle years – memories are awakened. Memories of portly gentlemen named Heinz or Ludwig Erhard, who came to symbolise this very economic miracle: self-satisfied prosperity after years of hunger, harmless jokes in classic rhyming verse, and an unshakeable belief that a market economy could also be a social one.

Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of bygone times

Enjoy the setting of Rittergut Birkhof during the Economic Miracle Concours, imbued with a wonderful picnic atmosphere. Around Oma Janssens Büdchen, the vehicles are arranged to present an impressive variety. Here, a grandfather can explain to his grandchild how everything (once again) began …

Lovable ambassadors from Germany and Europe

In the years from 1949 onwards, small cars seemed to be the order of the day, shaped by material shortages and modest incomes. People’s cars from well over 100 brands entered the market in the post-war years and were celebrated as harbingers of peaceful prosperity. The feeling of an entire generation – familiar to some only through the films of Heinz Erhardt, Peter Alexander or Heinz Rühmann – is set to come alive once more at Classic Days.
