Made in Germany

Historic Advertising Vehicles

Once again this year, distinctive advertising vehicles will delight visitors at Classic Days. In the special exhibition “Made in Germany”, these witnesses of the “good old days” contribute wonderfully to the overall design and decoration of the festival.

Workhorses with richly decorated advertising

If the vehicles and historic advertising messages originate from the technical sector (such as Bosch, spare parts deliveries, breakdown vehicles, and similar), they will be located in the paddock. If they represent beloved traditional brands, the “Made in Germany” vehicles are usually displayed alongside the cars of the Economic Miracle era in the “Lovely Heroes” area.

Memories of the “good old days”

Which workhorses with richly decorated advertising existed? Which advertising vehicles captured our attention in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s with colourful messages promoting products and companies? While the title “Made in Germany” sets the theme, advertising vehicles from all nations and with (almost) all types of products are very welcome. What comes together here is a colourful mix filled with romance and sentimental memories of the good old days.

Back then, there were countless products for which the origin and country of manufacture stood as a reliable promise of quality – or evoked sensual associations: a touch of francophile flair, a longing for the south, or something very British, bringing to mind “Mortimer” and After Eight. This area continues to grow in popularity among participants, as historic advertising vehicles and old workhorses are today lovingly preserved or restored.
